Best Project Management Software?

Need insight from you guys. What’s the best project management software?

CentralDesktop.com?

SalesForce.com?

BaseCampHQ.com?
Need a stepping stone project management system for 50+ employee to communicate, track progress, assign tasks, etc. Once we hit 100+ employees we’re moving to SAP.

Any insight from our audience is much appreciated.

I have used basecamp and salesforce for this purpose. I believe basecamp does a better job for project focused efforts – when I am managing teams that have to do a lot of design, development, etc. but are not necessarily integrated with customers. SalesForce is much better for customer focused efforts. Basecamp is simpler, and would likley be easier to migrate away from. Salesforce to be effective really needs to be your whole process – EVERYTHING done from within the CRM.

Try podio.com it is super flexible, but takes a little while to master.

Basecamphq does everything but really there are 50 clones that do very similar

Teamlab is free and lets you import all your basecamp stuff. The only problem with it is it doesn’t autos-subscribe to discussions

Hey Rich, I thought you were using basecamphq still? I still use it because of it’s simplicity, but for your sake, are you saying it just has problems with scaling to an enterprise level?

  hey Mike – I am still using BaseCampHQ for delegating assignment to my management team. for our managers to delegate to employees i think we are going to go with either a custom SAP system or for now work with CentralDesktop.com

I’d recommend taking a look at Workgroups: http://www.metacommunications.com/workgroups

I’ve used it for quite some time at my work (team of about 25) and have found it perfect for managing the majority of our projects… Job entry, time management, approval processes, etc.

You can use GetApp to compare several of these. I was looking for an alternative to basecamp and found what my client was looking for in another app. You should check them out, they also have reviews.
